Description:

The Office Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of a multidisciplinary surgical practice. The Office Manager is expected to maintain order and effectiveness of office staff in their daily functions through people-management skills. Other duties include the organization of office policies and procedures as well as proper management of vendors and accounts payable to ensure protocols are followed and demands are met.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in a medical practice setting with at least 2 of those years being in a supervisory, managerial, or administrative role.

Knowledge of basic medical accounting, business management, patient billing, and Insurance payer management is required.

Technical proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is highly preferred.

At least 3 references, 2 of which are previous or current supervisors from the past 5 years.

SEVERAL JOB OPENINGS AT CAROLINA HEALTH SPECIALISTS

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float needed for busy medical offices. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Candidate must have the ability to relate, develop rapport, communicate and work harmoniously with patients of various age groups, physicians with varying specialties, and to communicate with pertinent personnel in other agencies and facilities. Must have the ability to analyze medical data, set priorities, develop simple solutions to complex problems, and work calmly and effectively in stressful situations. Must be knowledgeable in medical and surgical procedures with ability to read, interpret and discuss medical reports and tests with the physician and other pertinent persons, as well as be knowledgeable of Medicare, Medicaid and third party payers and guidelines as they relate to patients in the outpatient setting. Proficiency in venipuncture technique and laboratory procedures pertinent to physician's office is required

This position requires travel between offices as needed.*

Full-time Call Center Coordinator position available for our medical group’s call center. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Main responsibilities include receiving incoming telephone calls from patients or others, scheduling appointments, directing calls to the appropriate person, opening cases as needed to communicate with providers and offices. Knowledge of grammar and spelling; excellent communication skills, ability to sit for long periods, ability to work in close proximity to others; ability to work in a stressful, busy environment at times with uninterrupted attention to detail and thought process maintaining high concentration. Ability to use a computer; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and other employees; requires hearing within normal range.

·         Only applicants with at least one year in the medical field will be considered.

·         Medical Terminology required.

Full-Time Clinical Laboratory Scientist needed for busy medical laboratory.  Obtains knowledge of patient specimens for laboratory testing according to guidelines and protocols.  Accurate documentation, data retrieval and collection as directed.  Operate and enter data into a computer.  Interact with patients, families, physicians and other health care personnel.  Knowledgeable and proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture technique.  Knowledge of medical terminology.  Ability to use a computer; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and other employees; requires hearing within normal range. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:  Certifications in ASCP NCA AMT and at least 2 years’ experience.

Some duties include:

1. Performs technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, and Point of Care testing.  May perform phlebotomy and drug screens. 

2. Reports test results including documentation following clinic protocols drawing special alerts to physicians and/or nurses on ‘panic value” results. 

3. Ensures quality control in collecting specimens.  Responsible to include specimen integrity comments on reports. 

4. Maintains equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.  Records all maintenance and troubleshooting records.

5.  Identifies and labels patient specimens correctly. 

6.  Enters and retrieves patient data and laboratory requests into/from various laboratory information systems

Job Description:
Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Front Desk Coordinator will assume responsibility for smooth and efficient running of the front office reception and billing area. Handles telephone interaction related to scheduling and patient problems, schedules and confirms patient appointments, gathers and enters demographic information in the patient’s record, verifies and files insurance, collects payment for visits, handles mail and correspondence, checks patients out after treatment, handles petty cash and prepares bank deposits.
